Goneri Community Attacked By Suspected Boko Haram Members

The Nigerian Terrorist group known as Boko Haram have attacked Goneri community in Yobe State Northeast Nigeria.

A top military official said that the attackers were believed to have stormed the town from the southern part, around the Sambisa, Talala and Alagarno areas that he indicated that the military said troops had cleared.

The officials who preferred to remain anonymous claimed that sporadic gunshots were being heard in the community, which is in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

After a while, some residents who live in the area also claimed that they heard the military chanting victory songs around town, which led them to believe that the attacks were repelled and that they were safe.

Although, details of the impact of the attack still remains sketchy pending for when the military officials issue an official statement about it.

This attack comes just right after so many people had returned to the community prior to their displacement by the Boko Haram Insurgence in the community due to the relative peace the community had enjoyed for a while., returning to their daily activities of agriculture and other leisure.

The attack also comes just a few days after Boko Haram Terrorist attacks a military base in Sasawa Town of the Damaturu local Government area, which is also the capital of the state on Tuesday.

A source, who also prefers to be named anonymous had said that eight soldiers (including an officer) and a civilian were killed in Tuesday’s attack while leaving several others were injured.

His statement read: “I can authoritatively confirm to you that there was an attack at dawn yesterday(Tuesday) at Sasawa and eight military personnel, including an officer as well as a civilian, were killed during the raid,” he had said.

“The insurgents overran the military base having come with seven gun trucks and took the soldiers on guard unawares.”

The commissioner of police in the state, Abdulmaliki Sumonu, confirmed the attacks as well while stating to the press that the details of the attack were still being worked on.

Nigerian Army base in Damaturu, Colonel Kayode Ogunsanya, who is the spokesman for three division who also confirmed the attack, citing that there were casualties recorded on both sides.

The “Statue of Unity,” located in India is 182 meters tall, making it the tallest statue in the world. The Indian president, Narendra Modi officially unveils the statue at an event attended by more than 5,000 police officers.

The president describes the statue as ‘an answer to all those who question the existence of India,’ saying that “the height of the statue is to remind the youth that the future of the country will be as huge as this.”

According to reports, the bronze-clad statue cost $430 million to build. The statue also houses a memorial garden and a museum at its base.

Kanye West Is Taking A Break From Politics



Kanye West gets Trolled

American rapper Kanye West is now breaking from political talk, saying he was used as a pawn and that his “eyes are now wide open.”

The rapper who once referred to the President of the United States as his brother takes to his Twitter page with a series of tweets declaring that his eyes are now wide open. On Tuesday, 30th October, Kanye West wrote a series of tweets breaking himself from President Trump’s beliefs.

He writes:

“My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in,” he wrote. “I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!”

Kanye who had earlier said Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hat made him feel like a superhero, also declaring “I love this guy” has said he is done being a messenger of beliefs that doesn’t appeal to him personally.

He also writes:

“I support creating jobs and opportunities for people who need them the most, I support prison reform, I support common-sense gun laws that will make our world safer.

“I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable. I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.

“I would like to thank my family, loved ones, and community for supporting my ACTUAL beliefs and my vision for a better world.

“I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.”

Abuja Violence: Wuse 2 Witness Senseless Killings

Abuja suddenly becomes unsafe as senseless killings are becoming the order of the day.

Gunshots are reportedly been fired in the Federal Capital territory again. This time, Wuse 2, also in Abuja is the location as members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) clash with authorities. The shots are not being fired by the Nigerian Army this time around; the security agency behind the fired shots is the Nigeria Police Force.

Members of the Islamic Movement classified as the Shiites were fired at Zuba and on Monday, shots were fired at these same sects at Nyanya – by the Nigerian Army after claims that the movement aimed at stealing ammunitions and attacked the soldiers. Even though, the public claim that the movement was unarmed peaceful protesters.

Social media users, once again share videos from the scene of the shootings in Wuse 2 warning people to stay off the area.
