FC Cologne fined

On Monday Cologne were handed a £53,000 fine for damages their fans caused at the Emirates.

The fine comes after investigations were carried out regarding the UEFA Europa League Group match between Arsenal and Cologne at the Emirates Stadium in September.

The match was delayed by over an hour because thousands of Cologne fans arrived at the London club, with out tickets but still wanted to go in and watch the game.

They have been banned from selling tickets for one European away match, though that is suspended for two years.

The German side had about 20,000 fans in London who created scenes of panic both in and outside the stadium.

5 people were arrested on the night for public disorder and the German side would later apologize for the actions of the traveling supporters.

They did still fault the Arsenal management for not providing adequate security on the night.

Arsenal was to go on and win the match 3-1 , with the return leg scheduled for November 23 in Germany.
