English Premier League Weekend Round Up

Published

Manchester City lead EPL

The English Premier League weekend ended with Manchester City on top of the table and Crystal Palace bottom.

Man. City brushed their opponents Burnley with ruthless efficiency over the weekend scoring 3 goals, with Sergio Aguero equaling City’s goal scoring record of 177; and would definitely break it soon.

Fellow City rivals, Manchester United were not at their best as they were shocked by Huddersfield who beat them 2-1.

Chelsea put their recent form behind them, as they came from behind to defeat Watford by 3-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle continued their march up the table with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace, leaving them 7th on the table.

The weekend’s football did serve a spectacle as Tottenham Hotspur went up against Liverpool, in a match that saw 5 goals scored.

Tottenham playing in their temporary home, Wembley Stadium put on a show for fans as they routed Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool 4-1.

The English Premier League regularly offers dramatic matches, and Everton versus Arsenal was a good example.

Everton, the home side, went ahead through Wayne Rooney, who 17 years ago, scored against Arsenal at Goodison Park.

The lead however did not last because Monreal was to equalize before half time for the Arsenal side.

The visitors continued their rampage in the 2nd half, eventually ending the match with a 5-2 scoreline.

This defeat puts pressure on Everton Manager Ronald Koeman, who is facing a sack it would seem.
