Emirates has stated that it would resume it’s second daily services in Lagos, and would also resume operations to Abuja with four weekly flights from December 15, 2017.

They stated that it would be the same similar services they have operated between Dubai and Lagos, but with a added frequencies to Lagos.

Emirates also stated states that these frequencies would be operated with Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which has eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 310 Economy seats.

The services to Abuja which has been reinstated would be served by a 360-seat Boeing 777-300 in a three-class configuration.

The Airline earlier operated about 18 frequencies to the country including two daily flights to Lagos and four weekly flights to Abuja reduced the frequencies to seven October, last year.

But due to the issues following the country’s economy and the issues with foreign exchange, high price of Jet fuel and the bad state of Abuja Airport runway; the Airline had suspended Abuja flights then and also reduced Lagos flights to one daily service.

Mr Afzal Parambil, the new Regional Manager of the airline, hinted plans to restore it’s 18- weekly frequencies to Nigeria.

Orhan Abbas, the Emirates Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Africa, stated thus: “Nigeria is a key market for Emirates and its importance is reflected by the fact that we will add 11 weekly flights between Dubai and two major cities in Nigeria, Abuja and Lagos. This is great news for both our business and leisure customers and highlights our commitment to providing travelers in Nigeria with not only the very latest in aircraft innovations but also increased connectivity”.
